ERM House...

ERM House came about after the MUD meet in Birmingham in 2000. I had been posting about new player help and trying to organise a group of players willing to help newbies but to no avail, during the meet Richard offered a house to help the idea long. I wondered what to call it and after he said Lexley had a house called ER, ERM was born.

It didn't take long for ERM to rise in popularity mainly because of the high number of newbies that were coming to Wireplay, built up first from a collection of "oldbies" that later gave way to an amazing community of newbies, all of whom who had started off in ERM and stayed with the house to help other new players. The house was a very active house, with a lot of banter and a lot of general help. Most of the members had no problems stopping what they were doing to help someone, because that is what they had experienced when they started.

The house was during the Wireplay era joint owned by Serenety & Astral, and as well as being very active with newbies provided a lot of fun and games for members. We had quizzes, harassed wizs to run quests, had mini bashes and day trips. ERM also organised, with a lot of help from wizs the first ever week long MUD event, which was MUD Big Brother, suggested by Theman and ran by Bigsister (Serenety) and Davina (Theman).

Library of Ancestors...

Since ERM's arrival in MUD I've been planning to get a website up for it, over the years there have been a few attempts, but I never had the time to fully complete them. During the time ERM Big Brother was running, a site was up for it. But it was taken down after the event (and has since become slightly lost). I also wanted a site online so I could get Lexley's Witch? magazine back online which I have the archive of. As it goes, L.o.A is here to serve new players, a lot of older players may not find this a very useful site. But hopefully some areas may entertain/help even the older crew!

Serenety...

I suppose a short introduction to who is running this site might be of some use... I started playing MUD2 in March or May 1999 as Jordie, after playing as a male persona for a few months, Serenety was born around August/September in 1999. "Serenety" was only supposed to be a mucking around name, nothing serious just for exploring and learning and hopefully playing on the kindness of other players for being stupid and female... it didn't quite work, but I ended up stuck with the name. I left for about a year when it was at £12 per month to play and returned in May, 2002 when I decided to make ERM active again and finally get the site up and running!
